Local Woman Receives Canada 150 Award!

2017 marks the Sesquicentennial of Canada's birth as a nation. To commemorate this important milestone, a special Canada 150 medal was created for the Saskatchewan Conservative Members of Parliament.

Our member of Parliament Kelly Block invited Rosthern Town Council to nominate some of our residents for this medal to recognize their valuable contributions to our community.

Linda Rudachyk is one of the recipients of this Canada 150 medal. Linda, along with her husband Greg Bobbitt, are loving and active members of St. Odilon Roman Catholic Parish. They are strong advocates for strengthening the modern family and providing support and welcome for everyone.

Linda's impressive culinary skills have raised thousands and thousands of dollars for many groups, causes and initiatives in and around Rosthern. Close to her heart are the Dolyna Dancers; together they have built Malanka (Ukrainian New Years) into an annual cultural event loved by all.

Linda is also Chairperson of the Farmers Feeding Families Committee that is raising money to fund the expansion of the Rosthern District Food Bank. Linda's grace and community spirit is a shining light here in Rosthern and we thank her for her leadership, her passion and her dedication to making the Valley a beautiful place to live. Congratulations, Linda!
